Overall ok but pricey experience

Liked: Hotel is nice, picturesque, in an historic part of the village. Breakfast room was renovated and very nice, also the breakfast itself was quite good.
Disliked: My room was quite small, single bed with limited space in general. Also, it was located at ground level, near the reception, just in front of the garden/patio area. You could see and hear people in the patio if they were talking, smoking or hanging around. Maybe rooms in upper floors are more comfortable and private.

Liked: Staff is really pleasant and helpful, rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Beds are comfortable, each room features coffee machine and team set is available on every floor. Breakfast is also quite nice, with a good variety of local products. There is a nice garden perfect for relaxing or for working in a calm atmosphere. Hotel is located in the town's centre, but far from car traffic. Variety of restaurants and shops are nearby, and the S-Bahn station where you can catch a train to Koeln is also within walking distance.I have really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to everyone.
Disliked: There was no AC in the room, that's the only reason I have not graded Malerwinkel Hotel as 10/10. If you are visiting outside of summer or you don't use AC, then treat this review as a perfect 10!

Amazing breakfast. Modern and comfortable...

Liked: Very nice small hotel. Very modern inside. The breakfast was amazing and the staff very friendly.
Disliked: The air conditioning was super loud, impossible to fall asleep so I had to turn it off.

Liked: The buildings are beautiful and old. The staff is very friendly.
Disliked: Breakfast has no scrambled / fried eggs. Only boiled. It was in the summer, it was hot, and the room was too hot, no air conditioning. I could not sleep properly.Rooms in the upper floor have windows which cannot covered from the sunlight.
