A faded charm but I...

Liked: Room was fine.Breakfast disappointing.
Disliked: Received an email on the morning of check-in confirming our reservation. No mention was made of the fact that the road to the hotel shown on my satnav was closed. WHY NOT WARN ARRIVING GUESTS? The receptionist's moronic response to this was that we should have arrived from the north. Hardly intuative when we had driven up from the south coast!

Enjoyable & relaxing

Liked: The room was very spacious & clean with great views, the bed was large and comfortable, The food we purchased was very good quality & very reasonably priced, we had a full English breakfast for £15pp the tea & coffee could be refilled as many times as needed. The evening meal priced at £35pp for 3 courses was excellent quality too.
Disliked: I couldn't really find anything to improve upon

All round good value option.

Liked: Lovely building and setting. Great location near the holly bush inn.
Disliked: Some control of the heating would be good. It was a bit warm but better than being too cold. Breakfast could be improved with better quality bread, etc.

Passable but not in synchronisation...

Liked: Car parking at front of hotel. The old historic building and its heritage.Decent size of room.
Disliked: Staff manning the bar (I had to ask reception to get someone twice).Restaurant menu was not the 'fine dining' that was promised: it was good but not fine dining.Only one local beer available (SALT).The marketing words on the website do not translate into the experience at the hotel.Big screen TV showing football in the lounge.

Very dissapointing for the money...

Liked: Location very good
Disliked: Wedding was on , no where to sit and relax bar was very small for the amount of people there and no room to relax, had 2 single beds pushed together which kept parting when moving and very un comfortable
