Liked: Fabulous breakfasts. The hosts were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Spacious room, nicely decorated and had everything that you needed there and more.
Disliked: We live in warmer climes, and found the room and bathroom a little chilly at times. That is probably just us!

Liked: Very welcoming hosts. A large room with good facilities - a lovely touch with a small decanter of sherry. A very comfortable bed - the best we have stayed in for a long while (apart from our own bed!). An outstanding breakfast - a lovely selection including real freshly prepared fresh fruit, good coffee and an excellent full English breakfast. We will return!
Disliked: Nothing.

Perfect for my business trip
Disliked: The bedroom was adjacent to the host's living room and I could hear the TV quite late

Exceptional
Liked: A warm welcome with great hospitality. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely comfy bed, en-suite shower room, fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, with little extra touches, like biscuits and hot chocolate and a glass of sherry. All very much appreciated. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed chatting and meeting our hosts and their lovely dog too. Thank you, we had a wonderful stay.

A delightful oasis
Liked: Lovely spacious room with a comfortable bed, fairly powerful shower, pleasant seating area, reliable Wi-Fi and access to a beautiful garden and a swimming pool. The room had its own outside access, so I didn't worry about disturbing people when getting back late. It's a very peaceful, rural location, being a converted barn around which the house has been built, looking out over fields. There are pleasant extra touches such as complimentary sherry and sweets in the rooms and a visitors' "lounge" with comfortable chairs and board games. Breakfast was excellent - I particularly enjoyed the homegrown figs with yoghurt. Jane and Kevin were attentive hosts, as indeed was Fidget, their springer spaniel.
Disliked: On first arrival, the closed gate can be confusing. When I arrived there was an event at the neighbouring hotel and it appeared that all the parking spaces were gone - there is ample parking through the gate, in front of Magpies, but you don'tknow if you don't know. I stayed in Hambleden, which is a lovely room. Technically, it is on the ground floor, as is access to the main house where breakfast is served, but to reach it, you have to go up some steps, not a problem for me but might be for someone with mobility issues

A wonderful find!
Liked: Its just an exquisite place. The room was cosy and comfy. The linen was exceptionally clean and fresh. I slept so well. The breakfast cooked to order in a very homely way. Jane dashed out to her garden to cut fresh sprigs of chives for my omelette. its just that small attention to detail I loved. Jane is a welcoming and kind host. I would highly recommend it.
Disliked: there was not anything not to like.

Liked: We were given a warm welcome by our host. Very nice spacious room with a lovely outlook over the garden. Our bed was very comfortable and the location peaceful. Excellent breakfast, fruit, cereal and yogurt followed by piping hot and delicious cooked breakfast. I swam twice in the heated pool which was an added bonus! We appreciated the sherry and bowl of sweets and would definitely book The Magpies again.Thank you
Disliked: The only slight negative was the electric shower which was not very powerful and it was also difficult to regulate the temperature.
