Would never stay again or...

Liked: The bed was large and comfortable.
Disliked: The hotel staff checked out at 7:00pm so no one was available to provide assistance.The restaurant was closed on an evening though I think it may have been open for breakfast.The bar was closed during my stay.The stairs to the rooms are extremely steep and dangerous when carrying luggage.Parking is some 300 metres away from the hotel.The man who checked us in was very rude an unhelpful when asked for something simple such as a bottle opener to open the bottles of water provided in the room.No staff at reception at 7:15am when I checked out so I was unable to settle my account.For boutique hotel, read bizarre hotel.Underfloor heating so the room never felt hot and no way to increase the heat rapidly.The provided bottles of body/hand wash were empty.

Liked: The hotel is beautiful and location perfect
Disliked: The welcome at arrival wasn't warm at all, but ok, not a big thing. But what as a big thing is that the room wasn't clean at all. The bathroom was the worst. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, I didn't make a fuss at check out. The employee informed me I would hear back as at the moment they could not do anything as they didn't know how.. After a week I emailed again and now after 2 weeks I still haven't heard back. Not ok!!!

Really filthy!!

Liked: Bathtub and bed were okay.
Disliked: The room was filthy! As we were taken to the room, it was completely unfinished, trash still lying around, floor covered in crumbs/dust etc. We complained to the receptionist who did not offer us another room but proceeded to vaccuum, which meant we could not remain in the room and relax. As we arrived in the evening, there were still stains on the floor (do they even mop the floors?) and furniture was covered in a thick coat of dust, bathroom mirror and glass not cleaned, piss sprinkled next to toilet. In addition the heating did not work. We chose to not focus on the hotel and enjoy our time in Haarlem but I would not recommend it to anyone. A huge waste of money!

Liked: Welcoming, and helpful staff. The rooms are huge, and like the whole building, full of character and charm. Super quiet room, with views over the roof tops of Haarlem. Very central, and safe. Plenty of food, and bar/ coffee shop options, on the doorstep, and in the central square 5 minutes away. Breakfast was excellent value, tasty and plenty of it.
