Liked: Large room, well heated. Good breakfast provided.
Disliked: The weather: it dampened our trip. Narrow steep lane to access the hotel, with ditches on the sides.

Exceptional

Liked: It was cozy and comfortable! The staff were friendly and kind!
Disliked: That we couldn't stay longer and there was no hair dryer

Disliked: Bar was closed before 21:30Breakfast poor. Scrambled egg had been scraped from bottom of pan. Burnt bits that tasted terrible and cold to boot. We had room 19 which is above reception. At 06:00 there must be a shift change as we could hear people chatting away without a care in the world or a thought for people trying to sleep. We had to go and find staff to order breakfast. No cups or glasses were available. Tea was from a thermos and cold.Also maintenance is poor. The taps on both sinks were very loose. The water pressure from the shower was almost a dribble. The toilet seat could be adjusted so that it was on correctly. TV reception was poor as was the state of the remote control. Batteries held in by gaffer tape is not a good look. And to cap it all reception was empty when we left. It is sad because with a little investment and training of staff I am sure this could be a nice hotel.They will not be getting anymore of my money I would sooner travel a little further.

Liked: downstairs is nice
Disliked: the bedroom very top floor room 22 was freezing cold no heating working up there at all carpet dirty and sticky the mattress had springs almost poking hardly any sleep huge gap under door and freezing cold air coming through absolutely terrible considering charging so much for the room.Asked 5 times about heating and eventually had a small heater put in the room.A friend was staying in room 22 sane problem even the heater put in his room never worked ended up staying fully clothed in bed and as soon as he was able to leave early in the morning he was gone.Breakfast wasn't good either 10 pound each used to be buffet style now just set items poached egg on toast is not worth 10 pound anywhere im sorry but when you don't like a full breakfast it's very limited and even 10 pound for a full breakfast is steep.Considering the problems we had was not even asked in the morning about our stay.The rooms are in a desperate state and need complete refurbishment.The entertainment the night before was good shame the rest fell apart put a real dampener on the stay would never stay again

Liked: I have stayed here a few times and like the decor, the style and location of the property, we stayed for the Christmas Party night, it was good, the food was good and we enjoyed the party atmosphere.
Disliked: On arrival we were allocated our room, however no electric in the room except for the lights, so we were unable to use hairdryers, charge phones or even have a cup of coffee. We mentioned it at reception, who offered us another room in the coach house, which we eventually accepted. Many more rooms complained of no electric. For us due to the room move did not spoil our stay, although it was a little cold.

Liked: Great location and lovely set up for Christmas event
Disliked: In the room in the coach house it had set times for heatong so when we arrived at 6pm it was freezing and we had to wait till later for the central heating to come on as it was timed. Maybe have a plug in heater as an alternative
