Liked: Thank goodness the breakfast turned out to be nice the next day and the lady was nice and helpful who served us..
Disliked: Cobwebs spiders and decor and while the chef was cooking the smell of chip fat lingered in the bedroom possible cos we was right about the kitchen and maybe cos the room was like a box

Amazing staff and evening meal....

Liked: Home cooking for tea. Was absolutely delicious. Area was great for hikers but most importantly Dave and wife where the best hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Lovely fire at entrance and a beautiful staircase leading up to the rooms. If your going to stay here, look on wowcher for a much lower cost as this place is not worth 160 a night - even with fried breaky. Either have continental or poached eggs on toast.
Disliked: Shower unstable in room 2, glass shelf unstable in room 7. Very unclean shower sealant. Headboard not fixed to wall in room 7. Beds in room 7 were so old they are extremely flat with a bowl-like dip in the centre. For such a lovely building the whole interior was more shabby than chic. Needs to be more original and less fake book shelf wallpaper. The decor let's it down. I paid 160 for room 7 with a see-through bathroom door and no working air vent for shower. The bed had a hint of piss coming from it and the sofa it some my Nan wouldn't even sit on if alive. I feel terrible writing this but I feel the place needs real constructive feedback. There was no fancy water waiting for us in our rooms as shown in the pics shown on wowcher. Breakfast chef - please use fry light. Our Welsh breaky came out swimming in grease. It was rude not to eat it. I haven't got the heart to put up the pics due to having respect for Dave.

Liked: The staff were all very helpful, one lady in particular I would like to mention,she showed us to our room and also looked after us in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble.The breakfast was vey good with plenty of choice.
Disliked: The decor is very old and sad. A lift would be advantageous.
