The hostel is a good...

Liked: The Mad Monkey Central in Cairns is a really great hostel. The atmosphere among the residents is very pleasant. It's not a party hostel that still has parties in the middle of the night, but rather a bit more relaxed, which is much better for me because I was able to get to know people quicker. The bar is open until midnight and the prices are really good. I can really recommend the hostel

Best hostel in Cairns!

Liked: Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel! The staff were super accommodating and friendly throughout my entire stay and the amenities were really nice as well. My favorite part was probably the pool and the beer garden area, a great way to meet other backpackers! Would stay again

Disliked: Bunk ladder had narrow round rungs that hurt my feet.

Disappointing

Liked: The location was in the center and the staff was friendly, aircon in the room
Disliked: Dirty, crowded, very small rooms, no space for luggage. 2 girls coming in the room at 2 in the night for make up, making noise, very noisy rooms, showers dirty, kitchen too full, the bar loud and tables to eat on are dirty, hostel is maybe acceptable for people in their twenties, but not for normal travellers. Will never come back, not recommended.
