Macdonald Forest Hills Resort, Aberfoyle

Perfectly relaxing short break.

Liked: On our arrival, the receptionist was extremely helpful. I booked an apartment for myself, my 83yr old mum and a 17yr old dog. I hadn’t appreciated the accommodation could be above ground floor level and the one I was allocated was in the 1st floor. The receptionist kindly requested a change of accommodation to ground floor. We had a lovely lodge with easy access outside for taking the dog out for walks; this made our break so much better that it would have been. Thank you Apart from the great customer service, the grounds and surrounding countryside were beautiful, didn’t use any of the facilities so cannot comment.
Disliked: Didn’t experience anything I didn’t like.

Another relaxing time away to...

Liked: As always the lochside cottages are ideal for my elderly mum as it’s all on the level & parking is near. The kitchen has all you need for cooking meals. All rooms are spacious
Disliked: Leaving to come home!!

Liked: Large apartment well provisioned clean
Disliked: Poorly lit outside dangerous for elderly. Not particularly good for anyone with any mobility issues or elderly. Checkin at 5 is poor and takes away from the value and smacks of low staff .

Great location.

Liked: The setting is absolutely lovely. lots of walks and places to explore in the area.
Disliked: The apartment was incredibly dated. Most of the staff were pleasant, restaurant staff not over friendly and didn't bother to find out answers to our questions about the food. they just reoed, 'don't know' to our questions. Beware the ost for a dog is £15 per day, not stay. The leisure facilities were cold and Tafters bar was shut.
