Ruined

Liked: Unfortunately was ruined by the stay
Disliked: I am emailing regarding our stay a couple of weeks ago, I had booked  a two night stay for my girlfriends birthday to celebrate we checked in on the 24th of January and upon arrival we were welcomed to no power, with no attempt made to contact us from yourselves or your partner hotels we thought was slightly unprofessional considering it had apparently been off for a while and it had happened in the past I’d have thought there would have been a system in place to notify guests incase the same thing occurred.  We accepted that we were already there so we spent the night up until 12.30am on the 25th in the dark, we had some sandwiches in the lobby sat in the dark which we were charged full price for, which given the circumstances I’d have thought complimentary sandwiches and maybe even a drink would have been provided. As we had no access to the facilities couldn’t shower or have a bath, and no electric was used. We then woke up to electric which was fine and got our breakfast on the Saturday all be it cut short due to a fire alarm which we were evacuated for. We then continued to have our dinner within your restaurant which was fine, although when I had my after dinner coffee it was served to the table with a peice of chewing gum stuck to the side plate which was very off putting. The following morning we went down for breakfast and was told there was only continental breakfast when I’d specifically paid extra to get a cooked breakfast both mornings which was rather frustrating. We then continued to check out and told there was a room bill of £54 which was for the sandwiches from the first night and a drink for each of us. Which given the fact we spent the first night in the dark using none of the facilities advertised nor any electricity, the lack of breakfast on the final morning we told the receptionist we we’re not happy paying the bill and asked to speak to a manager, the response was that there was no manager available.

Liked: Not a thing avoid this hotel
Disliked: Not a thing one of the ground workers peeked in our windows late at night which made my cane corso go bonkers and smash up the room he seen my baby mum butt naked and he then ran away when I was screaming at him when we told the manager we got laughed at. They then took £600 for damages and phoned the police on us. The ground worker was peaking into the room with a torch at 2 in the morning with my 2 year old son and naked girlfriend were

Great location to explore from.

Liked: Great location for walking in the area. Large rooms which were warmly decorated. Staff really friendly and attentive. Good heavy curtains which kept the room really dark at night. Access to pool and spa.
Disliked: Found our room was not very noise proof.

A wonderful mini-break!

Liked: Friendly, helpful staff. A lovely spacious room with a view of the lake. Adequate and safe parking. Excellent leisure centre. Very satisfying, generous breakfast and a lovely supper. A short trip into town, Aberfoyle, which made exploring easy. Such a beautiful area.
