Vivienne, Birmingham, visiting Forum Birmingham Tue, 16 August 2022

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as we wanted to visit Birmingham as well as attend the show at the Forum. We chose this hotel because of it's location. The facilities were adequate. Unfortunately, we had to use the service lift as the customer lift was out of order. There were enough choices for breakfast, which was included. There was no air conditioning in our room but they provided us with a fan. The staff were helpful and polite. We would stay there again.

Liked: The location of the hotel was perfect.
Disliked: There was no allocated parking for the hotel.

Beautiful hotel for a lovely...

Liked: Location was perfect for a city break, 1 min walk to train station (across a road from 1 of the exits) & 5 min walk to Bullring. Hotel itself is beautiful and luxurious! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room was ready early and we were able to check in prior to the check in time without extra charge which was amazing.
Disliked: You are not able to control the temperature on the air con unit of your room - even with the radiator off, the room was still too hot most of the time. Only 1 window was not bolted shut but that was in the bathroom.

Good location and price

Liked: The location is great it's right opposite New Street station and close to the Bull Ring for shopping. The breakfast was very nice and lots of choices. £5 extra charge for anything other than a full Irish though for example if you wanted eggs Benedict you pay £5 on top of already paying for breakfast.
Disliked: The showers weren't very warm and found the hotel in general to be cold, walking to the rooms you can feel a breeze. Also the room wasn't that warm couldn't turn up the heating either and the radiator wasn't working. Rooms are a good size just if it was warm it would have been more comfortable.

Passable

Liked: I liked the hotel staff and how friendly they were. The location is great as it's in the city centre and transport links are great.
Disliked: The room was freezing and overnight with a baby made it very uncomfortable. The room where we had breakfast was even colder which meant our food and coffee went cold very quickly. If it was just the husband and I then it wouldn't matter but we were in a rush to leave to get our baby to a warm place.

Great staff and fantastic service.

Liked: The staff were friendly, polite and went above and beyond. New years day, we got back from dinner, the bar was closed, the staff member who had been running the bar saw us and even though she was about to go home, re- opened the bar so that we could get a last drink.
Disliked: There was nothing not to like.
