Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as we wanted to visit Birmingham as well as attend the show at the Forum. We chose this hotel because of it's location. The facilities were adequate. Unfortunately, we had to use the service lift as the customer lift was out of order. There were enough choices for breakfast, which was included. There was no air conditioning in our room but they provided us with a fan. The staff were helpful and polite. We would stay there again.

Liked: The location of the hotel was perfect.
Disliked: There was no allocated parking for the hotel.

Good but overpriced

Liked: The traditional decor was nice. Pretty central location- opposite the main station.
Disliked: Way too expensive for what it is, no convenient outdoor space, rooms were dated, had to change rooms due to draught. Fire alarm went off during breakfast had to evacuate. Alot going on - didnt feel relaxed.

Very good for one night.

Liked: Excellent staff on reception and in the bar. Suite was very comfortable.
Disliked: Nothing of note.

Very good

Liked: We had an issue with the shower not working, we were allocated a new room which was an upgrade. The staff even moved our baggage whilst we were out for the day. The staff were very helpful, friendly and attentive.
Disliked: The breakfast is quite overpriced, not good value for money.

Disliked: I could hear some of the train station announcements from my room.

Excellent short stay for me...

Liked: Location was prefect, back entrance is opposite the train station entrance. The front entrance leads straight onto main High Street. Our room was beautiful, spotless and very spacious. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The breakfast was good plenty to choose from and the staff were very attentive, and polite. Nothing was too much trouble.
Disliked: Nothing
