We will never go there...

Liked: Rooms were fine but our room was freezing, we are in our 80s. Nobody had put the radiator on. Plenty of hot water, good beds.
Disliked: The attitude of all the staff was appalling, rude, unhelpful and surly. I have NEVER experienced anything like it before .

Still a good hotel but...

Liked: Comfortable room. Excellent location in centre of Woodstock. Within easy walking distance of Blenheim Palace. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Disliked: On arrival, the receptionist initially required a parking fee of £10 per night although our confirmatory letter stated £5. Not his fault; the revised charge had not filtered down to the reception desk. I think rooms should be checked periodically to ensure everything is working properly: a double socket came away from the wall when I removed a plug. The basin taps need new washers; could not turn off the hot tap completely.Breakfast service not up to the high standard of our previous two stays. On our second morning we were served with someone else's breakfast. Also, two of the best buffet items were absent, prunes and fruit compote. Apparently, deliveries had not arrived.

Nice spot. Very friendly staff

Liked: Very comfortable bed. Quiet yet central location
Disliked: Breakfast was ok. However several normal type items were extra coffee. Only filter coffee, espresso etc etc and expensive.

We had a thoroughly delightful...

Liked: Excellent location , Woodstock is such a beautiful place to stay . Very comfortable room , kept clean , we could bring our dog to . We would definitely come again . The espresso machine in the room was great .
Disliked: It’s a small thing but the coffee served at breakfast wasn’t very nice .

Great location in the centre...

Liked: Our room was a deluxe King and was spacious and well equipped with storage, a huge, comfy bed, a good sized tv and coffee machine. The ensuite had both a bath and shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the Bear is excellent and close to shops, restaurants, pubs and a two minute walk to Blenheim Palace.
Disliked: Parking is chargeable but secure. However, there isn't much of it and all on-street parking is either metered or requires a permit. The restaurant menu isn't cheap or especially inspiring so we chose to eat both dinner and breakfast in the town.
