Liked: I recently read about Ma Margarets House Bed and Breakfast in a magazine article, so when my daughter and I decided to explore the Northern Neck area of Virginia, I knew where I wanted to stay. Alva was very responsive and welcoming from the moment we made our reservation. When we arrived, she greeted us personally and gave us a brief history of her storied family, Victorian – style, home. Be sure to check out the old Victrola! Our rooms were clean and beautifully appointed, and we both slept soundly. The next morning, we were greeted with a delicious, hearty breakfast in the formal dining room. The homemade sweet potato biscuits were particularly outstanding.If you find yourself in the area, perhaps for a trip to nearby Tangier Island, make your reservation. Alva also provides local catering, and her B&B would be a beautiful setting for a wedding or other celebration.
