Overall a lovely place to stay, very cosy, comfortable and relaxing....

Liked: A real castle! Very comfortable and cosy and the staff and my room were lovely!
Disliked: I wish that the restaurant had been opened at all times and that the bar had more variety in respect of special diets. For non-drivers it was a very long walk to the road, to the bus stop - a little lift option would have been lovely as I hurt my ankles with walking backwards and forward up that slope!

Very good

Liked: Bar was lovely, room was very original and unique in many ways. Food was very good, especially breakfast and the library menu. Tea menu was quite limited so we didn't bother with the restaurant.
Disliked: Only let down for me was the cleanliness of the room, stains on the carpets, mould in the windows. Didn't look like it had been hoovered in days.

Disliked: Price for another night online with booking.com was £88 when a went to pay at the deck was charged £126

Liked: The castle location was lovely and the rooms were in keeping with the castle
Disliked: The rooms smelt very musty, it made be feel nauseated. It was very clean, so it must be damp in the building.

Quiet Stay

Liked: The location was nice and quiet a change from the city our room was Courtyard Classic which was a smaller room but for 1 night it was alright the bathroom was quite biggish the toilet was old school vibe were you have to pull the chain, the bed was very soft and so comfortable

Liked: The castle was amazing!!we go for every special occasion. Quality of food is outstanding.. the richard 2nd room was absolutely beautiful wonderful staff..everything spot on.. looking forward to our next visit

An experience that is rare...

Liked: Unique castle setting. staff were friendly and they made me a sandwich out of hours as I checked in last minute and late in evening.
Disliked: No heating in my room worked , duvet wasn’t thick and slept in coat. Decor was tired but expect upkeep is expensive and hard to manage.
