Hotel Description
Nestled in extensive gardens in the center of Swanage Purbeck House Hotel & Louisa Lodge is a 5-minute walk from the beach. Family-run and steeped in over a century of history it also has free parking and a bar. The Hotel do not take Dog. The bedrooms are divided between the main house built in 1875 and the newly-built Louisa Lodge. All have a flat-screen HD TV an iPod dock and a private bathroom whist some have sea or garden views. Breakfast is available as extra at the property in the Elizabeth Garden Conservatory every morning from 07:30 to 10:00 Monday to Saturday and 08:00 - 10:00 on Sundays. Please note we only serve Continental breakfast only every Thursday of the week and Full English Breakfast on all the other days. The World Heritage Jurassic Coast is just 984 feet away from the Purbeck with the famous Monkey World Zoo a 20-minute drive. Swanage Train Station is a 5-minute walk away.

Enjoyable and would not hesitate...

Liked: Location perfect for easy access to cafes, pubs, transport
Disliked: Struggled using the shower in our room despite help from our cleaner. My partner, who is unfortunately partially disabled and requires a walking aid had problems with the stairs although the night manager was really helpful on the last two nights carrying the aid upstairs for us. Perhaps a ground floor room might have been offered, if available?

Disappointed

Liked: The rooms were clean and the grounds are beautiful!
Disliked: The staff are not professional.Asked reception for somewhere to recommend for food. Receptionist did not have a clue to recommend anywhere. Did not even know what time anywhere is open. Completely useless and very intimidating. Only one staff managing bar and reception. Really poor! If you are advertising as a hotel and are charging hotel prices the least you could do is have at least two people working on a Saturday so customers do not treat it as a self service!The staff also did not have uniform and no name badges not that it matters as the hotel only had one staff member working. No help was offered for my bags and no real information was given on how far i had to walk with all my bags! Again the staff lacked simple customer service and hospitality. Real let down for such a beautiful hotel. The hotel has a lot of potential just sadly no love is given to it and you can see that from the staffs behaviour
