Beautiful New York luxury

Liked: The hotel was out of my budget but I decided to treat myself and it was a treat. The concierge are excellent, I had been in communication with them before I arrived and they were helpful. The bell desk helped me easily get around. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My room was fabulous, on the 33rd floor. Quiet (as I had hoped) and very comfortable. I need to find out what those pillows are!The location is central enough with everything I need nearby or on the property - delicious coffee, Sephora across the street, subway, taxis, etc.
Disliked: There was only one complaint. I had ordered a rollaway bed at 5pm before going out. When we returned after 11pm it had still not arrived. However, once I called reception and re-ordered the service was prompt. tough it was't until after 12.30 am that it was sorted out and we could get ready to sleep.

Liked: The lobby and restaurants are beautiful.
Disliked: Overall the Palace was very disappointing and I would not stay here again. The rooms seem to have the same decor, bathroom, fixtures as they had in the 1980s. The furniture looked as if it were sourced from a yard sale and haphazardly thrown into a room. The climate control of the room was non-existent. Further, the staff in at both check in and the restaurant were unfriendly, bordering on rude. I have stayed in numerous hotels in Manhattan and one can find far better, well appointed rooms at a lower price. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Liked: The location was very convenient for me and the bedroom cathedral view is lovely
Disliked: Check in at 4pm and check out at 11pm is inconvenient and greedy. At $1,000 + a night I expect the courtesy of the usual hours check out at 12.00 and check in at 3pm.The Lotte Palace is no longer a luxury, welcoming hotel but a generic, impersonal hotel with lengthy queues at checking and checkout.They even skimp on standard bedroom amenities, no notepads or pen in the bedroom. Sheets were scratchy but worst of all is charging $16 p/d for internet access. This is disgraceful.
