Poorly managed, unclean and unsafe.

Liked: The front reception staff was nice and accomodating.
Disliked: I have never written a review like this. I had hoped that London Travel Inn would make things right. January 18 was cold (-10C) and so was the room. It was probably between 12C-15C. The smoke detector was also beeping. There was hair in the bed. The heater was on and was barely blowing warm air-the dial was turned all the way up. We requested another room, it was colder, one of the 2 beds was not made. The fan was on, and was blowing cold air despite the dial being turned up. We were very frustrated (and felt unsafe due to the state of the smoke detector) and decided not to stay and requested a refund. Staff told me the manager was the only one who could do it. I have called 5 times, emailed 4 times. The staff will only tell me that he is not in, doesn't work weekends and they have left messages for him. Booking.com also tried contacting the manager without success. I feel like London Public Health and the London Fire Department should be notified for the safety of unsuspecting guests.

Disliked: It was dirty when we entered after check in, clearly not clean. There was only 2 tiny bars of soap. it was smelly, advertised as non-smoking but halls clearly smelled like cigarettes from other rooms. Burn holes in all sheets and blankets. Window in room was cracked. Sink is in awkward spot literally right in the door. TV is very small. Not very secure at all, the doors aren’t locked so they can be opened by anyone. Multiple guest altercations, several police cars for one incident In Particular.
