Generally good (we didn't have...
Liked: The breakfast food was good however the tea/coffee was very poor. The water from the machine (rather than a separate boiler) meant that the tea tasted a bit "odd" but was drinkable however the flat white was not-drinkable for me. I took one sip and left it. In my opinion, it would be better to offer less choice of coffee but do it well. I appreciate the volume of customers can be high and I think filter coffee would be a good option. Minimal input needed from staff if there were 2 machines, each with 2 large jugs.
Disliked: The rooms were very dated but I understand from one of the restaurant staff that following the takeover, a refurbishment is impending. Our first room (316) did not have working AC nor did the TV have an electric cable (a necessity with 2 young children and we were in a family room). This was not acceptable, especially given the price which would have been £500 had we not had a Genius discount, nevertheless it was still £408 for 1 night!! We also noticed that one of the bed valances was dirty ??food stain. We couldn't get through to reception via phone so I went down to speak face to face. The staff was very helpful and I was given a new room which was an accessible room with a good view (room 538)! Again, the room was very dated but everything worked and the TV was modern (unlike room 316 which was very old). We were also disappointed not to have car parking available. I would think hotel guests should be prioritised - we understand the charge for match day parking, but again, disappointed that there was none available. We arranged for off site parking at an additional fee of £75.
