Hotel Description
Set on the banks of Loch Ranza across from a 16th-century ruined castle Lochranza Youth Hostel is on the Cock of Arran trail which provides a scenic low level trek. A large communal kitchen and a games area in the lounge feature at this hostel. All rooms at Lochranza have bunk beds and shared bathroom facilities. Beautiful countryside views can be enjoyed on the grounds. A laundry service is available and packed lunches can be arranged upon request. A small continental breakfast is also offered. The Goat Fell the highest mountain on the Isle of Arran is a 15 minute drive from the hostel. The Arran Distillery which produces Arran Single Malt whiskey is just a 10 minute walk away. The nearest shop and the Corrie Golf Club are located 7 miles away in Sannox. SYHA is a charity and membership organization. Liked: Have stayed before and returning next summer. Staff are brilliant and the hostel spotlessly clean. Massive respect.
Disliked: Nothing wotsoever, the hostel is top notch.

Fantastic location!

Liked: Location, cleanliness, reasonable price and wee breakfast
Disliked: The shower cubicle was a bit small. It would be great if there was a small chair or a stool. The dormitory room I stayed in got really warm at night. The small light on my bed was broken.

Cheap, quiet, great location.

Liked: Booked in courtesy of a CalMac ferry cancellation. Friendly and helpful welcome, great location opposite Lochranza Castle and very quiet. Bed was very comfy too (private double room).
Disliked: Lochranza Hostel ticked the boxes for what I needed.
