Friendly and accommodating on a...

Liked: Travelling with a dog meant we couldn't access the restaurant but we did have our meal served in the guest lounge which was more like private dining. Excellent service and wonderful food.
Disliked: Breakfast was a little limited but this was the end of season and there were only 3 rooms booked for the time we were there.

Fabulous lakeside location.

Liked: Historical property, comfortable bed, great breakfast, friendly, helpful staff (Duncan especially), fabulous views over the lake.
Disliked: Small bath towels

Expensive for what it is

Liked: Great little hotel, has everyone you’d need from a hotel.
Disliked: The hotel was the most expensive on our NC500 route, and it’s not worth the price but in saying there not much locally to here so you’re limited. Dinner was a little disappointing with microwaved veg and what seemed oven chips. Breakfast was good.

Wow the old charm of...

Liked: The Property is quite secluded, which adds more to the character, we stayed for 1 night on the NC500, the WiFi did not work, but who needs WiFi, when you are in a beautiful place, we loved the dining room which had a nice atmosphere for our evening meal, to top the evening off we had a visit from deer below our room, was something like you would see in a great film.

Disliked: Very limited menu. Overpriced. Noisy fan. Faulty shower in my friend's room. They did move him to another room, so we were lucky it wasn't full.

Disliked: TV didn’t work, heating didn’t work, food cold
