A disappointing stay in a...

Liked: Breakfast was good, but lacked variety. The same every day.Location was convenient to railway station
Disliked: The building is old, run down and in need of an update and renovation. Stairs were steep and difficult to negotiated, with loose handrails. Host has a strange manner and were not endeared to him. Bed had memory-foam mattress and was not very comfortable. Toilet was a cubicle built into the room, with no ceiling nor sound-proofing. Spa-bath and shower not partitioned at all, with cracked tiles, huge mounds of bathroom silicane to seal leaks. Bath was so large it was difficult to get in and out of safely.

Great location

Liked: The location of the hotel is excellent. It is walking distance to the train station, cruise terminal and old town. There is a supermarket down the street. The breakfast is very good. The beds were comfortable. The owner is quirky, but helpful.
Disliked: We booked the 2 bedroom suite and it wasn't clear that the bathroom was only accessible through bedroom 1. The person in B2 had to walk through B1 to get to the bathroom. The only TV was in B1.

Comfy accommodations; optimal location

Liked: The breakfast was great; room was very comfortable!
Disliked: The steps to get to the room.

Very good

Great location, wonderful breakfast, and...

Liked: breakfast, the shower, the location. The staff. Breakfast was great. the Location was close to everything I needed included the bus, the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The stairs to the room, narrow. I would suggest a curtain around the tub/whirlpool to prevent water from coming in, and also for privacy. Would have liked to the fridge to be inside the room.

Quirky little property

Liked: Location was great. It's a short walk to the old city but it is all uphill. Rooms were clean. Price is good and includes a nice breakfast.
Disliked: The place is old and rooms need a refresh although bathroom was recently upgraded I think. The stairs to our 3rd floor room were quite steep and narrow. This property would not work if you had any mobility issues. The bed was a bit hard. No coffee in the room or glasses, paper cups only. The host is a bit gruff and at first did not seem overly welcoming but we kind of warmed up to him. Breakfast was good but my wife has food allergies and when we told him all she could eat was the fruit plate he was not well pleased. Tell him the night before because as he pointed out, he can't read minds.

We enjoyed the location and...

Liked: The hotel is below Old Quebec fort. Great location to city and bus station. The breakfast was delicious. We stayed 3 nights.
Disliked: On 2nd day we noticed the door did not lock. We still felt safe. and nothing was moved in our room. The main door also is code entry.

Poor

Liked: Good location for visiting the old city and only a short walk to the station which was handy as we were getting the train to Montreal. Reasonable breakfast.
Disliked: Steep stairs. In need of refurbishment. Bathroom in the bedroom. No cheaper than other places we’d stayed in Canada but not the same quality.
