I stayed here for an overnight trip and was extremely satisfied with my decision. The room was quite comfortable and very clean.

Disliked: They need to have more light in the room.Thats crazy how their name is Lamplighter but the room is a little dark.They should have a light where the mirror is.They jst need more lamp or light inside the room.

Liked: location for SDSU is just perfect and a 15min drive to everything in San Diego
Disliked: the hotel overall is bit old but in very good conditions

Decent Motel

Liked: The staff was helpful, but no one was at the front desk for an entire hour, around 7 P.m. The room was clean, and the bed was made daily. It was very close to San Diego State University, where I was working, and it wasn't far from the SAN airport.
Disliked: It was neither an "inn" nor a "hotel." Motels have doors that lead right to parking and bottle cap openers attached to the wall. They also don't have elevators. Lamplighter only had stairs to the second floor. Overall, from the reviews, I was expecting more than just a motel, albeit a clean motel.
