Lovely grounds and pleasant food...

Liked: The grounds here are lovely and this was one of the main reasons for booking as we were travelling with a dog. The restaurant food from the specials menu was very good but the standard menu is pretty basic. Staff were friendly and helpful and the booking experience and responsiveness was excellent.
Disliked: I was disappointed with our Stable pet friendly room. The pictures on the internet make them all look bigger. There was no real room for two adults plus medium dog. No space for a chair - just bed and bathroom. The room was also cold on arrival and we never managed to get the radiator working. The TV was also blippy. The main manor room was much nicer but we could not stay in there because of the dog. Poor wine choices. Thought there was also scope to segment the family/children dining from the rest.

Liked: The setting is remote and beautiful. The restaurant serves some locally sourced game meat (e.g. pheasant) which sets it apart a bit.
Disliked: It’s a 3 star hotel with 4 star prices. Tired looking rooms in need of a refresh.

Liked: Set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. We were upgraded to the Lakeview room as it was our Anniversary. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and the perfect way to get the day started.

Liked: Lovely location.
Disliked: Only a tiny thing but the TV didn't work because the aerial socket was broken.

Nice quiet location, welcoming staff.

Disliked: No food after 3pm, bar closed at 9.30pm. We were aware of the restaurant not the early bar closure. Stable room not available due to heating issues. Bedroom very warm, it was a one night stay so not too bad.
