La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Marcos, San Marcos

This was a huge disappointment....

Liked: The location is good and convenient.
Disliked: The room smelled like dog. I asked them to sanitize it. All they did was spray room freshener and they were rude as though they were being inconvenienced. The housekeeper told us to check out so she could clean the room even though we had several more hours left to check out. Our room Jesus repeatedly stopped working and had to be re-done. The plumbing fixtures are very old and outdated. The room was not clean. I will never stay at La Quinta again.

Liked: The location was close to the college. And the staff was friendly.
Disliked: The tv remote didn't work, electrical plugs in the room didnt work, and the breakfast was awful. Best part was the orange juice. The eggs and sausge were cold, the pancake machine didnt even work. Our room had a conjoined door the the room next to us and the kids in that room were banging on the lock and trying to open the door late at night. Never again want to stay here.

Liked: The ice makers do not work. There was a used wash rag stuck on top of the shower curtain rod. We found a couple of pieces of plastic clips on the floor. The in-room coffee maker was dirty. Sanitation is certainly lacking here. When I told the clerk about it he didn't offer a discount on my bill, either.

Liked: It was cheap and easy to get. Breakfast pancakes were good. Staff was friendly.
Disliked: The heater was broken so they had put a big electric space heater in the room that glowed bright orange and kept me awake all night. The bathroom was also kinda like a camping shower that was one big box with a floor drain on one side. But that may have been my fault. I may have selected an ADA room by accident that was designed to roll a wheelchair directly into the shower area. The sound insulation between the rooms isn’t very good either. Our neighbor was epic rap battles of history and we could clearly hear it and them laughing hysterically. But I actually love those videos.
