Liked: Needed to stay in San Jose for 1 night after Christmas 2024. Made a reservation through booking.com. We had our service dog with us. After we checked in the gentlemen at the counter said we couldn’t have a service dog with us. There was a SIGN at the front desk that said service animals welcome! So instead of making a huge scene we asked for a refund. The gentlemen at the counter said he couldn’t refund us because the reservation was made through booking.com. I reached out to booking.com and have still heard nothing back a month and a half later. So they essentially stole our money and left us still with no place to stay. The gentlemen at the counter did his job but his hands were tied which is exactly what these third party companies want which leaves him/staff in a dangerous position. Even the security guard was on our side and was frustrated for us that now we’re out 200 bucks and have no place to sleep. Do not use booking.com!
