Fine as an overnight stop
Disliked: Older hotel. Could definitely use some updating. Door hinge was broken so the door was hard to open and close. Other than that, it was fine for an overnight stay. Good location right off the interstate with plenty of food/gas options nearby

I would NOT stay here...
Liked: Desk staff was friendly -convenient to a family wedding that we were attending.
Disliked: My requested reservation that was made three months ago was for two rooms with king beds. 1st room smelled like smoke and had two queen beds. 2nd room didn’t smell as bad but still only had 2queen beds . Desk clerk stated they had been very busy the last few weeks, but I commented that I had this reservation for several months. There were signs posted everywhere about the problem with smoking in the hotel of all the FEMA residence, and also people smoking marijuana in the hotel. There was the kind of powder everywhere on the carpet that you could see that have been put out there due to a bug problem. There was mold in the shower.

I will not stay at...
Liked: The room was okay. The breakfast was sort of okay.
Disliked: When I first arrived, there seemed to be an odor in the lobby. It smelled like a cleaning agent. The motel was completely booked because of a storm some local people couldn't live in their homes, so FEMA was paying LaQuinta for them to stay there. Our room seemed to have an odor. It was almost like the air was stale. I was woken up by a noise at 4 am. I thought it was the alarm on the clock; however, it turned out to be a high pitch noise that occurred every time the air conditioning compressor kicked in. At 5 am I was woken by the alarm clock. The previous guest apparently had set the alarm clock for 6 am but the clock was never reset to the new daylight-saving time, and I could not figure out how to reset the time to the correct time. In the dark, I was able to hit the alarm clock off; however, 10 minutes later the alarm came back on. In the dark, I couldn't figure how to shut off the alarm clock permanently, so I unplugged the alarm clock. This is the second LaQuinta that this happened at within a week. I wish all the LaQuinta's had the cleaning crews check the alarm clocks, so the next guests won't be waking up by the alarm clock. The television was terrible. The screen was too small. That coupled with the fact that there were wide black margins or lines along the top and bottom of the screen while watching a movie made the picture even smaller. I found the channel guide, but it wasn't much help since there was no description of the subject matter of the movies listed. I went into the menu on the control to try to set the picture and the closed caption, but the TV control wouldn't allow me to do anything. I am 80 years old and am hearing impaired so it's important to me to have closed captions since I don't always hear what the actors are saying. We were there for a wedding and had booked two nights, After the first night, we decided not to stay the second night and checked out by 2:30 pm the next day.
