Upon check-in everything seemed okay. We dropped our stuff in the room and hit a restaurant and the REI sports store before we went back to change for our concert. After we returned to the LaQuinta, well after midnight, we discovered that our beds did not have any blankets! They were simply made up with sheets. When I looked in the usual places where linens are kept (closet and drawers) I discovered that not only were we out of luck without any blankets, but we found the previous guest's dirty laundry in the chest-of-drawers! I called to the front desk to request blankets and to report my findings. Once I got down there, the front desk staff greeted me with, "Ma'am, those were not my clothes." I was not amused. The staff repeated the line to me, ad nauseam, as if trying to get me to laugh at "the shituation." I didn't need humor, I needed the staff to be a little apologetic and professional. Additionally, the housekeeping seems to be historically under-managed, as the corners of the bathroom floor are absolutely caked with dirt, dust, and debris. As I sat upon the commode and pondered how I would go about cleaning it, I came up with a game plan that included a metal putty knife, toothbrush, and toothpicks. There was that much gunk caked in the corners. It was gross. There were children's stickers stuck on the desk. Those rooms are not properly attended to. I did not feel safe at that location. There was a gentleman who popped up like "Where's Waldo" each and every time I came out of my room. . . there he was, every place I was. Wherever I was, he tried to speak to me. I am not a shrinking violet who is scared of people and I fully speak to strangers, but this gentleman was different. He followed me everywhere, as if by magic. I did tell the staff when they had to deliver a blanket to me. The staff did do the right thing and call me from the front desk for a complete description of what had happened once they returned to the front desk. I have worked the night audit job at a crumby motel before and never encountered such shenanigans as I had at the Huntstville, AL LaQuinta. I will never take my chances there again. DO BETTER. Quiet, clean rooms with a Dennys out front. Very affordable.
Disliked: None really. Exterior was a little shabby but that's not a big deal.

It's by far one of the worst hotel/motels I've ever stayed in. Highly do NOT recommend this place. The smell is disgusting. The pool is covered in cat urine. Staff is unfriendly. The place is gross!
Liked: Not one thing was good about this hotel.
Disliked: My key didn't work twice. It's an outside hotel in a bad part of town. Pool was closed. Outside smelled like cat urine. Staff was rude when I had to go in at midnight asking to rekey my key, for the SECOND time.
