Beautiful architecture in need of...

Liked: Spectacular courtyard and beautiful design details by famed Mexican architect Legoretta (didn’t realise till we were there!)Quiet location, lovely garden green views from our room.
Disliked: Tired and tattered furnishings. The rooftop pool area, a selling point for us, feels very lonely. No towels to be found. No staff. Dusty furnishings. A bar that appeared closed, no music and no people. The place is beautifully designed but apparently was the place to go before Covid and now seems a little forgotten. It needs a refresh of some light fittings, furnishings and towels especially which were all frayed. One morning the buffet breakfast was only a La carte but that could have been because the hotel wasn’t busy and that saves wastage, which is a good idea. But having breakfast in a cavernous dining room alone with no music is a lonely experience.

Disliked: Elevator did not work. Wifi did not work. Wood floors in the room were creaky. No curtains on the windows.

Disliked: the place is huge and cold. it was raining and so going down for a meal we were cold in the vast space. The Noise from the club across the way from the hotel kept us awake until the early hours. So not a rest
