Very good

Liked: I liked the excellent drying room and the little touches like the balls of newspaper left so I could fill my wet boots with them.

Centrally located old building with...

Liked: Old building in centre of Kirkby Stephen. Helpful staff left code for me on door. Quiet room, basic but adequate. Communal area has character.
Disliked: Not such good value compared to some other accommodation on the C2C walk. (I paid less elsewhere with towels & breakfast included &my own bathroom/toilet, although Kirkby Stephen seems relatively more expensive)
