Pretty cool hotel. Beware the drinks and food stashed in your room ($$$$), it looks very delicious at 3am after a show. Bathroom was great. The added sewing kit was particularly useful for me. The doorman was a little rude to me when a porter was helping me make a phone call (I'm deaf). That was my only complaint.

Liked: Literally around the corner from House of Blues. Could safely walk to and from concert venue in the cold weather.
Disliked: Who are all of the guys standing around in suits? Porters? It was kind of weird. It had a mob feel in a way.

Good location but not as...

Liked: Close to the river and other touristy places
Disliked: Unfortunately not as clean, stains on bathroom doors that I wiped down with a Clorox wipe and found men’s underwear near the couch that was not ours.

Birthday Trip

Liked: Staff was amazing. Location was near plenty of restaurants and short walks to shopping and other areas. Great for tourists.

Good

Liked: The Kinzie is very conveniently located. The room was very large and the bathroom is a great size as well. And the room is very well appointed with furniture and lighting.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the area around the hotel can be very noisy. All the garbage dumpsters are located in the alley. And they’re constantly dumping garbage. And at 5:35 AM they started dumping them. And the HVAC fan didn’t seem to be controlled. And unfortunately the continental breakfast leaves a lot to be deserved.

Liked: Good location and price
Disliked: They took a $100 deposit per room for extras which we didn’t need or want. And took time to return this. It’s dog friendly which I didn’t know when I booked it and there were dogs barking in adjacent rooms. The breakfast room was so ridiculously tiny that it was chaos and there was no where to sit.

Disliked: Unfriendly staff, broken furniture in room, obnoxiously loud bathroom vent, you could hear everything going on in the hallway and rooms beside you, lastly our room was not very clean even had someone’s hair in the bathtub.
