lovely weekend trip
Liked: the grounds and views, the amenities, the dining option, how close it was to everything in williamsburg
Disliked: I think it's crazy to charge people for rides around the resort if they don't want to move their car. especially since theres a resort fee.

Nice property but would stay...
Liked: Location was great.Lots of options for golf, tennis and walking trails.
Disliked: Standard room had very thin walls - could hear other guest rooms.

I would like a full...
Liked: The room had an awful smell and I had to purchase candles to burn yo coverup the smell. I had asked too e but the place had no additional handicap rooms
Disliked: The buffet breakfast was great and the eVe pool.

Disappointing...
Liked: The bed in the hotel room was comfortable.
Disliked: Amenities are too spread out, require driving or a long walk. Front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. I had booked a king room for a couple's weekend getaway, and they gave me a double bed room without saying anything. Keep in mind the hotel is not connected to the resort so I had to drive to the room only to find out it was not what I booked. When I went back to tell the front desk staff, the female "helping" me just kept making it sound like she was doing me a favor by upgrading me to this room with 2 double beds. She can clearly see I'm here with my girlfriend and I directly told her we do not want the double bed room and want what we booked. They initially said they are overbooked and don't have any more rooms available. Finally, she said okay actually we still have a king room available. We thought we were squared away, but surprise surprise there was another issue with that room that they had not told us of. The outside stairway and hallway were PITCH black. The lighting was not working and it was quite dangerous to be carrying our luggage up and down in an environment like that. The building itself had looked like something out of a horror movie. So then I drive back AGAIN to let the front desk staff know and all we received was push back. The same person was saying things like "oh, that is exactly why I decided to upgrade you to the double bed room..." and "you picked the worst time to come here", and no apologies for all the inconvenience this was causing us. They had explained that they would need the HOA to fix it, so sure we understood but a simple apology would have been good enough instead of getting defensive immediately when we mentioned our concerns. We are not local and had a long drive down here to hopefully relax, but that was a rough start to trip. We finally just sucked it up and stayed at the room with no lighting outside.

Will not book again
Liked: I wouldn't know I never got the chance to stay. My reservation was cancelled after traveling over 3 hours. And after waiting about another 2 hours, found out we couldn't stay because they overbooked because of a wedding. And we got put in a hotel that wasn't very pleasant. And found out that the hotel had already been notified that Kingsmill had already made reservations with them while I sat almost 2 hours. Very unprofessional. Will not be coming back to this Resort.
