We enjoyed Nelson but motel...

Liked: We didn’t get any breakfast. The location was good
Disliked: It needed modernising and could be better maintained. The handrail going downstairs was sticky and concrete stairs needed a good water blast

If staying here avoid room...

Liked: Easy to find and an easy walk to shops and restaurants.
Disliked: The bed was poor. Our room was a separate building to all the other rooms and attached to the guest laundry and the pool pump room, the pool pump ran all night. When asked to change rooms the manager advised that he was fully booked but at no point did he turn on the No Vacancy sign. He said he would turn off the pump which he did the next night however the following night he had to be reminded, on the fourth night he needed reminding again but he did NOT turn off the pump.The guest washing machine didn’t work properly so we needed to take our partly washed clothes to a public laundromat in the town.The front door would not close without slamming it.

Comfortable and well equipped.

Liked: Location was great as very easy to find and a short walk to town.

Liked: It was everything you needed at a fantastic price.
Disliked: Only the pool pump noise, however it’s a white noise so you tend to sleep through it.

Motel in need of work

Liked: Location was great. Close to town and founders park.
Disliked: Bed bugs in all three beds in one of our units was a let down, broken armchairs chairs and sofa in need of replacement. Bathroom sink wouldn't drain due to blockage. Booked 2 rooms for 4 adults in each but advised on arrival only one room had a usable sofa bed. Missing cutlery and no toiletries.
