Poor quality but cheap
Liked: Handy location for lots of pubs and restaurants, venues and places of interest. Prices are cheap for rooms in the area. WiFi was good. There was somewhere to park off street (but small space on rough ground surrounded by litter, most of which seemed to come from the pub).
Disliked: The room had no TV and, though they lent us a TV from a staff room, we couldn't work it. The heating was difficult to work and made a load of noise all night. There were insufficient sockets in the room to charge devices and watch programs on our laptop. Bedside tables and other furniture was old boxes and there were no drawers for clothes. There was a sink in the room but it was small (tough to fill the kettle) and the hot tap was stiff. No service or replenishment of milk and sugar occurred in 3 days. The shower room/toilet was shared between 3 rooms, though there seemed few other guests, fortunately. The shower only just gave enough water to actually get clean very slowly. When we checked in, we were charged an extra £10, as a security deposit, but, when we checked out on Monday, the place was shut with no one to see to get our tenner back.

Just the job.
Liked: Stayed there to start my journey on the Cumbria Way walk. Perfect way to start the walk early next day. Breakfast not provided but able to top up with food before setting off. Ideal place to stay.
Disliked: It was ideal for what I needed.

Overpriced cold and mouldy top...
Liked: Nothing, over priced old pub room
Disliked: Top floor, broken window, mould on the ceiling no heating in the shared bathroom.

Mixed review
Liked: Location is good and room is ok. Nice mattress. Good heating. Nice coffee.
Disliked: No hot water in room sink. Blinds don’t open without opening each slide individually by hand and were dusty. It’s a very noisy place. I wouldn’t callIt a hotel. It’s a room above a pub. Loud music and loud customers, especially outside when pub closed. There was no hot water in the shower. The fire alarm was set off at midnight. Carpets not very clean. The plumbing from the room next door was very noisy. Banging pipes etc at 6am.
