Took a while to book in as there were two guests complaining about their stay which was not a good start. We were then welcomed by the desk clerk who proceeded to book us in, but when the phone rang, despite there being two other people behind the desk, he decided to answer the phone and so we had to wait several minutes before he finished the call and continued to serve us. On Saturday evening after returning from the theatre, we decided to call room service - we were phoning for several minutes but there was no answer! My sister then decided to go down to the reception herself to be told there was no room service on Saturday evening. This was not such a problem, but the only thing I take issue with is that the number for room service is the same number you would need to ring if you have any emergencies, so thank goodness we did not need a doctor! I think you need to look into that. The hotel itself was very nice - breakfast very good, service in restaurant very good.
Liked: Rooms very clean.
Disliked: No room service or anyone on the desk on Saturday evening; tea/coffee not topped up on second day.

Comfortable and well looked after.
Liked: Very comfortable bed, clean and well presented room with attentive staff, and lovely bar.
Disliked: Overwhelming sweet smell pumping out in corridors and halls. Bit too much and slightly nauseating. A spa smell is always appreciated but this was quite a pungent sickly smell.

Liked: The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were super professional, helpful and accommodating. The room had all bathroom and wardrobe essentials. Location is very ideal and close to everywhere I needed to get to. I had a very comfortable stay and would definitely recommend or stay here again the next time I'm in London!
Disliked: The lighting in my room was not great but I also wasn't in there a lot so it didn't matter much.

Very fancy hotel - great...
Liked: Loved the location on Russell Square. Short walk to the British Museum. Easy access from the Russell Square tube station which made it easy to get around to other locations. Beds were super comfortable. The complimentary social hour was very nice and held in the lounge. Would highly recommend The Queen's Larder just around the corner if you are looking for a chill, authentic London pub.
Disliked: Bathrooms were very nice but ours was a little small. Not enough space to put our toiletries cases (which aren't that big but we each have one). Shower door also didn't seal fully, so water leaked out to the bathroom floor and soaked the bath mat each time.

Superb
Liked: Beautiful building, stunning decor, room suited us as it was at the rear of the hotel so quieter than looking out to Russell Sq
Disliked: Nothing about the property that we didn’t like. Breakfast was a little lukewarm and food could have been warmer. On reflection we should have asked for freshly cooked off the menu, which we were offered. Good selection for breakfast though, no big deal and wouldn’t put us off staying here again.
