Took a while to book in as there were two guests complaining about their stay which was not a good start. We were then welcomed by the desk clerk who proceeded to book us in, but when the phone rang, despite there being two other people behind the desk, he decided to answer the phone and so we had to wait several minutes before he finished the call and continued to serve us. On Saturday evening after returning from the theatre, we decided to call room service - we were phoning for several minutes but there was no answer! My sister then decided to go down to the reception herself to be told there was no room service on Saturday evening. This was not such a problem, but the only thing I take issue with is that the number for room service is the same number you would need to ring if you have any emergencies, so thank goodness we did not need a doctor! I think you need to look into that. The hotel itself was very nice - breakfast very good, service in restaurant very good.
Liked: Rooms very clean.
Disliked: No room service or anyone on the desk on Saturday evening; tea/coffee not topped up on second day.

Excellent stay
Liked: It was our 4th stay at the Kimpton and, as usual, it was excellent. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect for museums and shopping. Breakfast is superb and we were also left a delicious little cake to celebrate our anniversary.
Disliked: I was unaware that the hotel was dog friendly and was woken one morning by loud barking. I think next time I will ask to have a room away from dogs.

Excellent stay and well located...
Liked: Excellent location at Russell Square. Comfortable Bed and Good Shower. Hotel is around the corner from the tube station as well. Centrally located, there is also the number 14 bus nearby which goes via the British Museum and a nice park across the road. Breakfast was included and was good, also catered for alternative milk ie Oat milk. They also had free drinks for hotel guests from 5-6pm in the night when I was there. Staff were friendly and nice. Plush hotel and lovely interiors. Cafes, Pret a Manger across the road along with an Tesco express. Further down that street there is some food outlets and a larger Waitrose as well. There is a pub just behind the hotel as well.
Disliked: Nothing to advise here.

Really disappointing and I was...
Liked: Beautiful property. The communal areas were beautiful.
Disliked: The room size was shocking. Very small. £500 for one night and it was very cramped and uncomfortable. No dressing table / desk. The mirror at the door did not have a plug point so I had to pull the furniture out to find somewhere to plug in the hairdryer and sit on the floor to get ready. The bath was chipped and the shower mixer not working property. Hotel 5* and room 3* at best.

Beautiful hotel but disappointed by...
Liked: The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and the location was exceptional. We loved being right opposite a park with the most amazing Italian restaurant.
Disliked: The size of our room. I had paid extra for a 'superior' room, but unfortunately it felt quite cramped and although it was beautifully decorated I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed especially as this was a special and rare trip for my husbands 30th birthday.
