Disappointed in the room, staff...

Liked: Good location. Nice pool.
Disliked: Felt the staff on the desk could have been more helpful when we arrived with two large cases. No one offered any assistance to our room (315) which they would know was annexed from the main building with doors and steps to negotiate. Our front door was right on the fire escape exit which was pretty much open access to anyone from the street. The security on our room door was a pretty duff looking chain affair. It didn’t scream high security. The room was not quite as described, there was supposed to be a sofa, there was one armchair and one desk chair. There was no full length mirror nor any coffee/tea making facilities despite there being two sink areas ( one outside the shower and toilet, the other by the front door). There was hot water available from a machine by the lifts. We had to leave the room, walk a short way to the main building, negotiate the door to get to the hot water facility. We used the paper cups my husband obtained from the concierge . Because of the doors situation it was impossible for just one of us to go for then hot water, we both went. It was a micro adventure . Onto the shower room & toilet, the only one I have ever encountered with the sink outside it! Have a poo then touch door handle to get to sink to wash hands¿? The door had real clear signs of water damage at the bottom with rust on the hinges making it not that easy to close.

Totally underwhelming

Liked: I assumed it would be at the standard of other Kimpton properties. It did have the same lovely smelling soap.
Disliked: The rooms were musty and tired, even when I was moved to a renovated one. The televisions were old and not WiFi enabled. The music from the bar was loudly blasting into my not sound proof room to the small hours. I asked the front desk for a sewing kit and and to wait an hour (with several reminders). I was told I could have a late checkout and then wasn’t given one on the day.

Disliked: The USB points by the bed and on the desk didn’t work.The engineers came and tried to fix but failed.Luckily the hotel could lend me an adaptor for my European plugs. Only US plug sockets in the room.
