Liked: This Castle was a beautiful place inside and out. Very cared for gardens. The various Restaurants and The Keeper Bar was a quirky place to sit and enjoy a few Spritzers. We loved the Lounge area and open fire. The Golf Course looked great even though we didn’t play.

Disliked: A few stains on coach and carpet in room . Could get better car changing facilities, maybe a fast charger or a better rate for overnight charging . I know it's not the hotel operating them, but it's on hotel property and they should try and do better for guests.

At the reception, we were warmly welcomed, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The young man who guided us to our room was courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable, setting the tone for a wonderful stay. As we explored the hotel, every staff member we encountered greeted us with incredible kindness and professionalism, making it clear that exceptional service is a priority at Kilkea Castle. And now, let’s talk about Hermione, the exquisite restaurant within the hotel:I had the pleasure of dining at Hermione, and I’m truly at a loss for words to capture how amazing the evening was! The ambiance, the food, and especially the staff made it a night to remember.To start, I ordered the brie cheese appetizer, and it was pure perfection – beautifully creamy with an exquisite depth of flavor. For the main course, I had a medium-rare steak, served with the most velvety mashed potatoes. Paired with a wonderful bottle of Pinot Noir, each bite and sip complemented the other perfectly, making the meal an absolute delight.A huge part of what made the evening so enjoyable was the exceptional service from our servers, Gonzalo and Glenn. They were not only attentive but also warm, personable, and welcoming, truly going above and beyond to ensure our night was memorable. Gonzalo and Glenn were incredibly friendly and engaging, bringing such genuine care to their service – we felt looked after in the best way. They managed every detail with finesse, making the experience feel so special.If you’re looking for a place with outstanding food and service that makes you feel right at home, Hermione is a must-visit.
