Polite and professional by certain...
Liked: Maureen is your hidden gem, an absolute lady, impecabble work ethic and compassionate, nothing ever too much trouble, Jake the Barman again nothing ever too much trouble, good honest opinion of food, a superb mixologist and general enthuses a positive and professional and happy r re violent. Sharon the front of house manager simply superb in every way, all of the above showed true compassion.
Disliked: The Manager was woeful with his absence, and complete lack of compassion for the reasons for our stay (My wife’s loss of her mother) his complete lack of knowledge of his team and birthdates etc, I was promised a call from the Manager in our first night of arrival but did not receive any form of communication from this individual throughout our stay, food very highly priced for a hotel located centrally within an industrial estate, food generally sub-standard, leisure facilities dominated by members who simply through shear numbers overran the leisure facilities from 0700hrs to 2130hrs in the evening, negating paying residents the privelage to use the spa in any form, management seriously has to respect and consider the privelaged of residences and not continue to accept new members, morning elderly swim classes completely overtake the use of the pool, in effect it’s a members spa and not a residents spa even when residents are charged an extra £20pp per day for use of the facilities. In four days we had the luxury of utilising 2no’ loungers for an hour in the spa. The ladies showers floors were filthy, no tissues within the dispensers, room phones did not work for 3no’ of our 4no’ night stay. A bizarre requirement was to book a table at a time for breakfast, my wife and I had breakfast where virtually the entire restaurant was empty, eggs Royale with a request for a side of crispy bacon materialised with a muffin with scrambled egg, when we mentioned to the waitress, we were offered a very quizzical look as if to say this is what Royale is !!.Rooms are very dated but bed is very comfortable, yet still the main annoyance is having to stand in a bath to have a shower with a shower curtain, this should not be the case at this rack rate.

Decent stay, but if I...
Liked: Warm and homely feel in the reception and bar area You can take drinks from the bar into the spa which meant you can have a great time! Cold lemon water available on reception wheneverSpecific make up desk with a mirror which was good for my partner to get ready at
Disliked: No plug sockets at the side of the bed in the room meaning you can’t charge your phone when in bed or throughout the night, very important if you need to charge your phone and keep it close by, I had to charge my phone and leave it in the tv stand throughout the night affecting my sleep as I don’t sleep with my phone on loud! No BIG light in the room? There was only lamps and wall lights in the room and non of them were very bright meaning even throughout the day the room did not have much light The sun / light did not shine through the windows throughout the day either which didn’t help with natural lighting so be prepared for a dim room, luckily my partner brought her own make up light or would have struggled to do her make up in the evening We was not offered any extras from the staff at reception Such as another customer was checking in and was asked if they would like to add the spa to their stay, we was not asked so had to ask the reception staff if we could add it, why was we not asked? It’s a 4 star hotel? Shouldn’t they be upselling and telling you about all the facilities on offer? We was also not told about the free hot drinks which everyone in the spa seemed to be having, customers were going up the the desk and getting multiple free drinks, we was not told of this? The bathroom floor was not cleaned properly as there was still dirt in between the grouting The shower head was not detachable, shower was also very temperamental and not easy to use and find a nice temperature Lots of children using the spa pool so was off putting even though we had paid extra for the spa access, should definitely put a limit in how many children are allowed in
