Lovely hotel and friendly staff....

Liked: The location is alittle out in the country but still close enough to Derby. The breakfast was fantastic. The bedroom and ensuite were great.
Disliked: I did not eat at the hotel in the evening, though menu looked good but maybe a little pricey.

Disliked: The dripping shower, the lighting we would of preferred dimable bedside table lights, we felt there was to much furniture for the size of the room

Liked: Food good but why no fruit or cereal before the cooked food? Some people do not eat cooked breakfast so a cereal and pastries choice would be better.
Disliked: Evening meal was disappointing. Paying extra for bread to dip into a baked Camembert was ridiculous especially as other bread was then brought to the table! Why mess with Christmas dinner? Curried vegetables don’t go with turkey! Only sprouts as fresh veg isn’t good enough. The rest were roasted and hard.

Fabulous stay

Liked: It was out of the way but best night to the centre of Derby to get a cab there and back (the hotel use a fab company via a we code) The manager was friendly and helpful and bar staff too
