Excellent food
Liked: The 2 ladies that run the hotel were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptional. The room was comfy but a little bit small. It did the job though. The shower was scary, too powerful for the size of the shower. Took my breath away as couldn’t get away from the shower head. The first breakfast was delightful, toast was brought over without even asking. Very tasty, good quality food. The second days breakfast still excellent quality however the man serving wasn’t as good as the lady the previous day. We had to ask for the toast and he wasn’t attentive, didn’t ask if everything was ok etc. this is the only reason we’ve marked down by 1 point.

Passable
Liked: The building is nice and has been well decorated. The staff were welcoming. The bathroom was big with a good shower. We walked to the pub via the footpath through the fields, which was fun.
Disliked: It's not that big a place and it felt a bit like the hotel guests were shoe-horned in around all the events going on. We couldn't really use the bar etc in the evening as there were multiple birthday parties booked in and then the guests were crammed in a little room for breakfast when there were all these big spaces around, being prepared for the next big event presumably. The wifi was very very slow. At breakfast super-upbeat pop (Hanson singing MMbop!?!) was playing loudly from a speaker on the wall directed at the guests like it was for our benefit. Who wants that at breakfast? When we politely asked if it could be turned off there was a slightly shocked response and it was replaced with Frank Sinatra, which was boring. For £160 a night stay, the breakfast could have been made of better stuff and the waitress was slightly run off her feet. The coffee included in the breakfast was horrible (tasted kind of like curry sauce?!), had to pay more to have a decent one.
