We just spent the night in Kansas City and left the next morning. We did have breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel and it was really good.
Liked: I loved the elevators. You just put the floor your room is on in a pad outside the elevator and it tells you what elevator door to get on. You don't even feel like you're on an elevator.
Disliked: No, there was nothing bad about the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

Location was great for the events we were attending and staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: Yes. Restaurant, the Metropolitan, and there was no hot tub.

The rooms were tiny! And where are those awesome bathrobes? For $300 a night I at least wanted to take a late night dip in the pool. But it closed at 10. Dumb. $13 for self parking is terrible - it should have been free.
Disliked: Small rooms; no bathrobes; parking is too expensive.

Was not impressed with the hotel in general. Was not informed of extra charges for internet service and self parking. I have stayed at numerous hotels in the KC area, this was the worst due to the impersonal service and extra fees. I won't be back to this hotel, I just expect more.
Liked: Close to power & light district
Disliked: Very impersonal large hotel, if you want to be treated like a number, not a guest, this is the hotel for you!!!

Very nice room and overall...
Liked: The room was a nice size and well maintained. The location was just what I expected from info gathered before booking. We did not use parking services.
Disliked: Hotel front desk staff "didn't know" about thier city on my first phone interaction with them; I called about what I called the free trolley - I was told very quickly that "I don't know about that". I learned later it was a free streetcar, I wonder if she would have known about that.

Superb
Liked: The rooms were very clean & comfortable. I loved being able to walk to our concert at the T-Mobile Event Center.
Disliked: There was some construction that made it really confusing on how to get to the parking garage from the direction we were coming from.

Fine for one night
Liked: Room, pet friendly, restaurants, service
Disliked: No hot tub/spa. The pool liner was failing. If I had known you were going to park my truck on the street and specifically state “no responsibility for theft/damage” for $40, I would have parked it myself in a garage.

Very good
Liked: The staff was very helpful and cheerful. They were always willing to answer any of my questions and took care of some additional requests. They also were very kind with addressing a mistake the kitchen made on a room service order. We also enjoyed how close to the t-mobile center it was.
Disliked: Having to sign up for an account to just get on wifi. The log on site did not work well on a mobile device, I could not fill out the form. Also the free wifi is not usable at all. The paid for wifi was not much better.Wasn't a fan of paying for parking, but I understand that is a city thing. The hotel is also starting to show its age with wear and tear. In the main areas of the hotel, there was a strong sent of cleaning materials (like comet)

I would stay there again,...
Liked: Great lobby, restaurant, bar, football, etc. Love the water re-filling station downstairs and coffee/ breakfast station. Easy self-parking and convenient easy access to and from parking / hotel lobby.
Disliked: Upon first entering the room, there was a pretty powerful smell of some type of cleaning solution or carpet shampoo (?), which was initially somewhat offensive. We opened the window and turned the air up and left for a few hours, and that essentially cleared it up. The maid service skipped our room on day #2, even though we did not have the privacy sign up, and we had called and asked for service during the day. This was the day that I heard 400 singers checked out, so I think that this was probably a one-off due to shear volume. They came thereafter and all was fine.
