Good place to stay
Liked: Nice place, clean and safe. The lodge is located directly at the beach.
Disliked: I had lots of ants in the bathroom. Furthermore the walls are not soundproofed, so take some earplugs with you if you are sensitive to noise.

Good overnight stop
Liked: The room was on the small side, however clean and comfortable, it is in an excellent location
Disliked: We were above the communal kitchen, which was occupied most of the day and night with backpackers, who were noisy and let the doors slam

Nice, family-holiday unpretentious inn with...
Liked: No-nonsense lodging right outside Abel Tasman park. Appears to be great for families — our room had bunk beds. The attached restaurant, the Beached Whale had excellent fish and chips. :) The staff was friendly and down to earth.
Disliked: The window shades seemed to be unoperable to get a fully dark room. No breakfast cafe, though there is a kitchen where you can cook your own breakfast foods.

We would go back again...
Liked: The location was great. Close to the beach and Abel Tasman National Park. The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was a lively restaurant next door.
Disliked: The room we were given on arrival was too small. It had a super King sized bed with little other room for suitcases etc.It being Sunday and very busy, the staff were unable to give us a different room. However, they came up trumps the following day, moving us to a family room which was much more spacious.

Great place to stay while...
Liked: We were cycle touring on the Nelson/Tasman Great Taste trail so the location was excellent. We arrived on bikes, one of which was electric and the accommodation was able to provide secure storage and charging which was great. It was really great being close to the beach and the bed was really comfortable. Enough power points to charge all the gadgets that go with cycle touring.Communal kitchen was clean and very well appointed. We wanted a quiet room and we were on the other side of the building from the bar with the music could hear it but It shut down at 11 so no problem. There was a refrigeration unit outside somewhere humming away all night but not a real problem. In such a confined built up area perfect silence is not really possible.
Disliked: Nothing really bothered us. The room was moderately sized but this is what we expected. We could have cooked in the communal kitchen but wanted to eat in a restaurant. The options in Kaiteriteri were limited as it was not the summer peak season. Most places were closed or closed early but one place was open which worked.

We were three generational family...
Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent location for beach access.
Disliked: What we got was what we expected. No unhappiness!

Excellent location; all we needed...
Liked: Very central in Kaiteretere, easy walk to beach, bars and cafe. Comfortable as expected at the rate paid. The bed was extra comfy! The room was all that we needed.
Disliked: Never saw a staff member; not that it really mattered as we had all we need; but their presence could have made the place more welcoming.
