Great pools, absolutely terrible food.

Liked: Swimming pools were really great for kids. Snorkelling, water slides, etc.Lots of activities for children in general.
Disliked: The standard of food was seriously below par. Actually shocking that the hotel has a 5 star rating as it is probably the most lack lustre food I’ve eaten in years. Worse than hospital/aeroplane food. Not just basic, completely bland and often stale. If it was basic but tasty, that would’ve been ok. It was basic and tasteless. Like cardboard. Even our kids didn’t want to eat there.After a few days of trying several restaurants we gave up and just ate out. Which was such a shame as the point of a resort is to stay put and eat at the hotel.Also, the add on costs for everything were disappointing. Ordered a (singular) coffee to our room and it was $14.50 — $7.50 for the coffee and an additional $7 to deliver it! I will say, the ice cream bar by the pool served very nice ice cream. But that was the only decent thing we ate there in a week.

Great hotel and facilities.

Liked: Loved our stay at the Hotel. Staff friendly and welcoming. Received a complementary room upgrade, plus a bottle of Moët for new year. The breakfast buffet was amazing and you could have food cooked to order. Location also good and you can catch the light rail to the centre of Surfers Paradise.

Disliked: Room service or baby food to be specific, very saulty kids menu.
