Liked: It was a phenomenal experience. We stayed in the Giraffe Treehouse and it was such an amazing stay. The staff were so attentive, they couldn’t do enough for you. The food was amazing and plentiful. You have a tour with a guide, and get to experience the zoo the next morning in peace and quiet before the general public come in. The zoo is world class and the experience at Jamala is a once in a lifetime bucket list item. We highly recommend to put it on your list!

Liked: Everything! Our room, the amazing food, yummy wines, the other guests, all the friendly staff, but most of all, the animals...
Disliked: Our toilet in the Meerkat room didn't full flush, and the shower taps were hard to turn off to stop dripping. Also, our TV didn't work when we first checked in? The lovely staff got it sorted while we were at dinner.

A unique experience but not...

Disliked: Many of the hospitality staff at the Lodge seemed inexperienced. The food was nice but having nervous staff serve it doesn’t make for a luxury experience.

Well worth the money

Liked: The decor made you feel like you were on safari. The room was huge and luxurious.
Disliked: Water pressure in shower, at times water stopped running completely

Exceptional

Liked: Contact with animals - Greet the Cheetahs, patting a Rhino and a python
Disliked: Loneliness of 'hybrid' tigers. Maybe desex the make hybrid tigers and try socialising the hybrids together - apart from pure breed species.
