Lovely staff, easy location with...

Liked: Accessibility and parking. Very convenient
Disliked: Basic things like toothpaste was not available and had to go to convenient store at 4 am

Just ok for 1 night...

Disliked: The website said we could get a hot roll for breakfast. We asked at check in and said we had to leave at 6.30am for the boat. First we were told that was very early and we may not get anything as kitchen was closing and staff wouldn't be on until later in the morning as it was Sunday. We did get a ham sandwich, an apple and crisps. This needs to be better.Also, advertised as pet friendly. We were put in the furthest away room with our dog. The room as grotty at best. You should consider when you have a dog you need close proximity to the outside for toileting. Our dog is 15 yrs old. You couldn't have out us any further away from the outside.

Disliked: The room 108 musty smell, lots of dust in the room, the room was cold, heating not on much, carpet was old

Disliked: We left and did not stay we were put in a room that was really small and thay could not give us another one. They would not give us our money back so we found somewhere else.

Not what it was, dirty...

Liked: Bar staff and breakfast staff were fantastic
Disliked: Upgrade the room prior to arrival, room had not been cleaned properly with dirty laundry and cleaning equipment still in the room, huge split in the bed sheet, no mattress protector. Room had two beds, no view as it was in the basement, curtains not hanging properly and clearly been cut to size with a pair of scissors and were fraying along the bottom, the radiator pipe was brown with rust, reported to reception and was moved to another room, on inspecting this room firstly I checked the bed sheet to find a stain that could be seems through the sheet, lifting the sheet clearly a dried blood stain the size of an egg, no mattress protector, went to reception again to get rolled eyes and saying " well I've staying in these rooms before and they are fine" moved to third room, two huge double beds, frayed curtains, more rusty radiators (which only came on the morning we checked out) room clearly not been hoovered and one bed with big stain and lots of very long hairs. Other bed was fine (no mattress protector but clean so given the huff and puff from reception we decided to remain in this room. This hotel has been a little tired for the last several years, but it has always been very clean and the staff very friendly, We stay 2-3 times every year and have recommended to countless friends and family. Unfortunately we will not be staying again and I will not recommend to anyone. Not responding to my complaint has really upset me as all I wanted was recognition that the standard had dropped and that they would work on this in the future, wasn't looking for refund or anything, but zero response.
