Beautiful Castle. Not food friendly...

Liked: Stunningly beautiful grounds and castle.
Disliked: We wish one of the castle rooms were available. We stayed in one of the “small walled garden rooms” becaude they were the only rooms available. They have lovely bathrooms with a club-footed tub and a two person shower, but the rooms are not in the castle but in the converted barn. You can walk to the castle, and they offer more privacy, but we missed out on all the beautiful rooms in the castle. Also, dinner costs are extra for the rooms; and the “small walled garden rooms” cost a bit more than the least expensive “small double rooms” in the castle, which look like nicer rooms, although we believe their bathrooms aren’t as nice as the new ones in the “small garden rooms.” In addition, I can guarantee that anyone with children won’t be happy with the meals. (Most couples we saw were without children - which makes sense).They are seriously bougie meals, and there were no options for children; which meant the adults couldn’t stay for the dinner we were hoping to experience.

Disliked: Bed in the walled garden jr. suite was very hard. For $700 + per night I would expect far better linens.

We were a bit disappointed...

Liked: We loved the idea of staying in a castle , the rooms were nice and gardens were beautiful.
Disliked: We didn’t like being put in a garden room down the pathway , after thinking we were going to stay in the actual castle .

Great for dinner visit, not...

Liked: The castle looks amazing, the grounds are so beautiful. At the restaurant you get a five course dinner experience.
Disliked: There was no room service, thats a huge disappointment for a five star hotel. Housekeeping were below standard, they made the bed yes and changed the towels, other than that they just left everything as it was (including any empty water bottles, used kleenex, basically any trash) I left the bath robe on the bathroom floor so they can replace it they literally just hanged it back (mind you the floor was wet) why was it wet? Cuz there wasn’t a shower box of any kind so the water filled the bathroom floor.

Great castle experience

Liked: It has a wonderful garden. Great shower and comfortable bed. The breakfast is really thoughtfully selected and very yummy!
Disliked: I traveled with a dog and it is sad that one cannot stay other then in the room with the dog.

Liked: The property is beautifully decorated and has a lot of history. We had the Michelin Dinner which was superb. Most of the staff were very nice.
Disliked: When we first arrived the person that welcomed us made us feel very uncomfortable like we were a bother! We felt that because we were staying in the garden suite and not actually within the main hotel itself we were less important!
