Staff needs some training; good technology but needs personal relation training.
Liked: Location.
Disliked: We arrived at 2:40pm, check in at 3:00pm. Told we had to wait. OK. We went to the lounge. No one waited on us. Bartender and waiter were talking and fooling around. We went to the bar and placed an order. No one brought us our order. In the meantime another patron became angry with the bartender because she was inattentive. At 3:00pm we were called for our room. We never did get our order. We brought things with us that needed to be refrigerated so we took out the contents. The day we were checking out they knocked on our door and said we used all contents of the refrigerator. We asked them to come in and check it out. We had used nothing. We went to check out. There were only two people at the desk and the line was to the outside door. I finally checked my bill and all the charges were still on for the refrigerator even though the person who checked said it would be removed immediately. It finally was removed but if I had not asked to see the bill I would have been charged an extra $300. We were thinking of staying in an Intercontinental Hotel when we go to Barcelona however after the way we were treated and the inefficiency we experienced that will not be happening.

Can recommend without hesitation
Liked: We loved our stay. The location is awesome and it's right next to the subway station. There are direct subway lines to downtown (9-11 museum, etc.) and uptown (central park). I also loved the location because it's one block to Times Square so it's easy to walk there but without as much noise at night. The other thing I loved about this hotel is that the room is actually big for New York. We had two queen beds which was helpful. Hotel staff also nice. Restaurant food was yummy as well. It's very close to all of the theaters too. We also went to Birdland (Jazz Club) that is across the street and had a great time. I would stay here again.
Disliked: Shower water pressure could have been better.

Liked: The staff was extremely helpful. The facility was kept clean and its location perfect for our activities
Disliked: The 25 dollar room allowance. I was not impressed at all. Why offer it? We were told to use the contents of the mini fridge for our sodas then they were not replenished and the juices were out of date

Did the job but didn’t...
Liked: Great location, in the centre of Times Square. Staff were friendly
Disliked: I was quite underwhelmed for an intercontinental. It looks lovely from the outside and the lobby was nice but the rooms were only okay and I expected them to be nicer. If I came to NYC again, I would try a different hotel.
