Liked: Good-sized room, friendly staff, excellent location.
Disliked: The most uncomfortable pillows I've ever experienced: bolster/full-body pillows, rock hard, terrible for sleeping, and the hotel has gone all in on them: there are four per room and nothing else. After a terrible first night's sleep I requested regular pillows, and got slightly shorter versions of the same thing. I would avoid this hotel in the future purely on this basis, and will check whether this is an Intercontinental thing -- whatever it is, it's a terrible idea.I was also disappointed that the hotel is following the ridiculous practice of stuffing their room-fridges with expensive minibar items and leaving no possibility of using the fridge for travelers to store their own items. (as various signs warn, moving an item triggers a sensor, so there's no way around this.) A minor irritation if you're staying just one night, but if you're planning to store juice, water, milk or what have you, this may also be a deal-breaker. Lastly, the rooms were clean, but I did see an unexpected visitor one night -- and I was on the 8th floor. It's been some time since I've seen one of these in a hotel...
