Disliked: Didn't get the room we paid for.Always book town room with city view.We got disabled room with a view of a brick wall.We might get a refund??

Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff.

Liked: Our stay was Saturday 11th November. The entire downstairs was beautifully and tastefully decorated for Christmas and was by far the stand out of the whole town square. A number of times when we walked out of the entrance couple were walking past the hotel admiring the entrance and decorations, commenting on it and some even taking pictures in-front of it. I also liked that the hotel was dog friendly even though we didn’t have a dog with us. On our way to check out we saw a cleaner cleaning a room next to us we had previously seen the occupancy had a dog with them, and we saw that the hotel had provided the room with a water bowl and blanket for the dog which we thought was wonderful. The staff (Paige I believe was on her name tag) on the reception was extremely pleasant, welcoming and very nice to talk to

Liked: Property was very central
Disliked: We were in one of the rooms over looking the Main Street , the noise was awful and the windows didn’t shut properly, will definitely think about booking this next time

Disliked: couldn't sleep at all as the market square was so noisy with people outside the pubs until 2.00 am and then at 4.00 am people turned up to set up the market and were throwing metal poles around.

Liked: beautiful hotel with all the Christmas decorations up, great location in the centre, excellent service from all the staff, food lovely in the restaurant for tea and breakfast

Great central hotel and friendly...

Liked: Rooms were spacious and enjoyed the cocktails in the bar area. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Hotel very central and very close to Derwent Water which was beautiful

Luxurious dog friendly hotel

Liked: Everything is spotlessly clean, and the decor is beautiful. Bed very deep mattress and very comfortable. The restaurant is fully dog-friendly, and the food is fresh cooked and the menu is imaginative and very interesting. The location right on the main square and almost opposite the historic Moot Hall could not be better. There is a car park right behind the hotel, although it is short stay so have to arrive after 19.00 or move at 07.00am. The hotel itself has a very small car park.
Disliked: It's expensive but worth it. There was a noisy bar below at the back which I wouldn't have heard if I hadn't had the window open, but I wanted some fresh air.
