Liked: we had our company's Christmas meal booked for here and it seemed like a good idea to stay the night.
Disliked: our room was freezing during the night, tried to turn the radiators up but the heating had obviously been turned off. With single glazed windows it was really uncomfortably cold. the bathroom towel rail was hot but as that was a large room it was super cold in there too, especially the floor.

Liked: Room was comfortable.
Disliked: Room had broken lamp and without bulb.Breakfast: No staff to welcome to breakfast. Realised had to order at bar. Dirty crockery piled up on tables. I ordered cooked breakfast without eggs and beans, but got beans but no hash browns. My husband ordered cooked breakfast without hash browns but it arrived also without bacon! He also had porridge that came in a carton with too much hot water poured in so was just like liquid! Not good enough!

Liked: Warm, helpful welcome. Room was well appointed. Breakfast was excellent with a good menu choice. Open fire in the bar area was welcome on a stormy day
Disliked: A few maintenance issues like a wet carpet in the bedroom, cold air coming in through the windows and cold bathroom radiator (with no indication how to turn it on). The stairs and landings needed vacuuming and a vacuum cleaner left on the landing could be a trip hazard
