Loved it.
Robert G, New Jersey, visiting Hudson Terrace Mon, 11 August 2014
Let me preface my review by saying that my wife and I have traveled worldwide and typically stay in 3 to 5 star properties wherever we travel to. Additionally we are both originally from New York. This is an awesome property for many reasons - however, the first is the level of service that the staff exemplifies (front desk, bell service, parking etc). In a city where being rude is the norm we were actually made to feel as if we were visiting our hometown as opposed to a fun Anniversary weekend. This was a last minute booking via online and email and yet the hotel not only provided us with a corner room on an upper floor (1408 I believe) but also had a bottle of bubbly on ice and a hand written note (nice touch). Very impressed with the smoothness and relatively care free check in BUT what was most surprising was the explanation of the parking situation which is no in and out upon validation at a rate of $65 daily (common in NY) but also a quick oratory of other parking garages in the area and approx. pricing and lay of the land in terms of street parking (NY street parking can be difficult just interpreting the signage). They actually went above and beyond which allowed us to make a decision as opposed to parking and finding out later. They probed just enough to explain area dining options (which are plentiful btw - after all, this is NY). The hotel is very chic from the decor of the lobby to the elevators and hallways and of course the rooms which are quite spacious (this is rare in NY where space is at a premium). The beds, lighting and bath are exquisite, not worldwide glamor but elegant chic while the bath products are top notch. They provide you with a complimentary list of items for your needs and sure enough I was in need as I forgot and requested shaving cream (they not only brought the cream but also 2 razors all within 4 minutes - again, rare for a big hotel in NY). This hotel has a great roof bar (we didn't get to enjoy as a guest booked out the roof for a private party (that must have cost a pretty penny) but it's widely recognized). Now the best reason to stay in a hotel on 11th Avenue in Hells Kitchen has to be the access to NYC nightlife and you basically have everything at your disposal including sports bars, clubs, adult clubs, lounges, piano & beyond. In a city that does not sleep this hotel sits in the heart. This is a better location than ANY cheesy Times Square hotel AND you're closer to the West Side Highway (in case you want to zip to the park or TriBeCa or Wall St etc.). See how long it takes for a cab to get from Times Square to 11th Avenue during rush hour (more than 40 minutes and we're talking a mere 4 to 5 blocks). The views from the property are killer especially since it has widely unobstructed views (again rare for a NY high rise building of any kind). There is also the CHANCE of parking around here unlike Midtown or Wall so that's a plus. The restaurant here is ok but to be honest you're in NY so why would you eat in your hotel unless it's 4 or 5 star dining right? Beds in the room are super comfortable and CLEAN! I can think of a few more reasons why I would book here again but I will leave it to you to share your own experience.
Liked: Viability to nightlife, rooftop bar, excellent views,
Disliked: Should link up with food vendor to offer 24hr in room.

The hotel has gone downhill...
Liked: The location makes it a bit quieter and the view was nice over the river.
Disliked: The room lacked a lot of things you would expect for a 4 star hotel for example - there was no table or chairs, no tea/coffee making facilities, no proper glasses (just plastic cups) and no desk. The air con/heater worked but was very loud so couldn’t have it on overnight. The room was generally run down with scuffs and minor damage. There isn’t really any facilities even though they charge a $40 daily fee to cover them! There’s a fitness centre and that’s it. There’s no water stations, tea/coffee facilities, restaurant or bar – all of which the hotel had previously. The service wasn't great, not always acknowledged etc.

Adequate but expensive, it's New...
Liked: The location was very convenient for the cruise ship terminal. A five minute walk.A decent pub just across the road.
Disliked: The heating in the room was very noisy. The extractor fan in the toilet didn't work. They advertise a rooftop restaurant and bar but it had been closed for months.I messaged the hotel on October 30th to ask about early check in on November 28th. They replied on December 17th !!

great rooms and hotel, pathetic...
Liked: large sized roomsvery spacious hotellobby looks great and welcominglarge bathrooms
Disliked: the only reason why I have given it a low rating is.. in my room, the previous occupants obviously had vomited all over the room. There was a stench, and stains all over the carpets which were not properly cleaned. I was in a hurry to check into my room as I had an urgent conference call that I was late for, so I had to tolerate the room for the day I stayed there. But the cleaning staff did a pathetic job.

Horrible experience, never again
Disliked: My stay at Ink 48 was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I arrived, everything felt off. All elevators were completely out of service, making navigating the hotel an exhausting hassle. To make matters worse, the rooms were far from clean—the sheets had holes, the bathroom was clearly not properly cleaned, and repeated requests for vacuum cleaning the room or extra water bottles were simply ignored. Additionally, towels were taken away during cleaning and not replaced, forcing me to ask for replacements. To add to the chaos, doors were constantly being slammed shut at all hours of the morning by cleaning ladies, waking me up multiple times. It was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep with all the noise and commotion. While I was at the front desk, I witnessed another guest run down after checking in to report that someone was already in the room they had been assigned. The guest rightly replied, “It was embarrassing,” and the front desk staff handling the situation responded with a casual “That was embarrassing for us.” And that was the end of the conversation—no proper apology or urgency, just complete indifference. As for my personal experience, one particular lady at the front desk, I believe her name was Jackie, was shockingly rude to me for no reason whatsoever. Her attitude was entirely unprofessional and inhospitable and left me upset. The only redeeming aspect of this entire ordeal was David at the front desk. He was polite, helpful, and honestly the sole reason I didn’t leave a zero-star review, if that were even possible.Management at Ink 48 needs to urgently revisit their standards for cleanliness, service, and staff training. From the lack of attention to basic hospitality standards to the shocking lack of professionalism, this experience was completely unacceptable. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Complete nightmare, avoid!
Liked: Nothing
Disliked: We chose Ink48 Hotel in Hell’s Kitchen for its proximity to the Javits Center, but it turned out to be an absolute disaster. The neighborhood itself is unsettling, with poorly lit streets and a noticeable presence of homeless individuals, making it uncomfortable to walk around at night. The hotel is in a state of disrepair. The doorbell didn’t work, some sockets were broken, and the carpets were visibly dirty. Bedsheets had actual holes in them, and the overall cleanliness was questionable. To make matters worse, the service was horrendous. Every simple request turned into a frustrating ordeal. For example, they decided to remove one of the two shower towels without explanation. When I called to request a replacement, I was put on hold three times, passed around to different staff members who couldn’t connect me to the right person, and it still took them 45 minutes to bring up a single towel. They didn’t have umbrellas available during a rainstorm and even the small details, like setting the correct time on the nightstand clocks, were completely neglected. These seemingly minor issues compounded into an experience that felt careless and unprofessional. Adding to the nightmare, the elevators were down for part of our stay.If you’re considering staying in this area, I strongly recommend avoiding it altogether. But if you absolutely must, do not stay at Ink48. This hotel is a complete nightmare and simply not worth the hassle. Save yourself the frustration!

Friendly and comfortable
Liked: The staff were fab, really welcoming and gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and drink nearby. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet
Disliked: It was a little walk to the subway, which was quite far in the cold weather and meant we got more cabs than expected. Otherwise all good

Overpriced mediocrity
Liked: Spacious room with clean, nice bathroom.
Disliked: No coffee provided the room, stained furniture and carpeting. Spotty service from staff and unclear communication. Requests ignored/ not actioned. Uncomfortable pull out couch for the 3rd traveller. Only thin fleece blanket provided for pull out couch. Price more than expected with additional fees and taxes, no transparency around this or receipt provided until asked.
