The Tallow Pod at Ingenia...
Liked: The Tallow Pod at Ingenia campsite is by a long, long way the best and also the most frustrating campsite accommodation I’ve had in 35 years of travelling. The unit itself is superb in space, equipment, location and indeed looks. By far the best presented unit on the camp. You enter into the kitchen diner which has leather relaxer chairs and footrests, a supremely well-equipped kitchen, with a small dining table, coffee table and a large kitchen counter which doubles as a breakfast bar. An induction hob and modern oven, microwave fridge, freezer and dishwasher complement two sinks. This area leads on to a wide shower and toilet section and then a well spaced bedroom with all mod cons. It’s all tastefully decorated.Outside bar chairs overlook a grassy area, lower down two sunbeds lie on a grassy strip, there is a fire and chairs for evening relaxing. Next to the verandah there is a private tiny putting strip to practice your golf and a small private garden beyond.Very modern technology compliments the pod.And therein lies the rub! There are no instructions whatsoever (except that if you use the bbq and don’t clean it you will be charged AUS$150!).So let’s start with the cooker. There are five buttons on the front two of which can be pushed in. What, why, how do you set a temperature, how do you turn it on? What do the numbers on the front mean? Are they telling the time (which it isn’t) or the time it will switch off or time to start cooking. How do you turn it off? There’s a switch on the wall but that seems to have no effect. There seem to be only 4 temperatures to choose and once it starts flashing no re-set seems possible. First evening cooking - is the chicken done? But that’s of nothing compared to the TVs!There are two giant TVs, some with soundbars some with mysterious boxes attached, one in the lounge one in the bedroom. There are also several remotes, which appear to have no effect on what’s on the screen.

Passable
Liked: One after hours staff member who could not do enough to help. Otherwise, everything was just passable. Nothing more to highlight.
Disliked: Very average experience, small room, not clean, most staff communication was poor except for one after hours person that was very good. The location was a bit out of the way. More central accommodate available.

I thought it was great....
Liked: The rooms were clean, the shower pressure was great, the beds were very comfortable, the booking was easy, no hassle, the location was great, away from the business of town, the beach access was close and a lovely walk.
Disliked: There were a lot of units and camp sites. Personally I’d prefer less people. That’s just me.
